Corian and other mineral plastics must be heated carefully to avoid distortion and marking the surface finish. Contact heat on both sides, without the application of pressure is ideal. The Mikutherm heating system, comprising of duel electrically heated platens – a free sliding lower platen and a pneumatically controlled top platen – ensures maximum efficiency and protection of the surface finish.

In contrast to conventional heating systems with hinging cover tables, maximum safety is achieved together with short cycle times, typically about 5 minutes for 13mm Corian. In addition, energy consumption is extremely low, with up to 70% savings over hot air kilns.
The Mikutherm is the most widely used preheating machine in the Solid Surface industry and has set the benchmark for reliability and convenience.
